If you make a post and then can't find it, it's probably there. Please and we'll review it. Hi, My ISP is probably doing some traffic inspection on my line (it's a 150/50 unlimited Lte line behind NAT, with dynamic Ip and a forced 12h disconnect). As this connection is natted (i get a private 10.x adress and the public adress is shared with other users) I am not able to set up a exposed host at my firewall on this connection. So it can't be used for any incoming connections, as active sync, vpn etc. So I tried to set up a openvpn to openvpn site to site connection using Sophos Utm.
This works, but traffic is limited down to 5 MBit. I tried changing udp ports and switched also to TCP.

Didn't change anything. When I put the vpn down I have the full speed that the line delivers again. So my question is: do you know of any solution that could work for me to hide my vpn connection? Onsite I have a fortinet appliance, and on the other side I have my own dedicated servers that I run and maintain. Would changing from openvpn to an ipsec tunnel eventually help? I am not sure how to do this. Bot devices (fortinet and sophos) support that.
Any help in setting this up would be very appreciated. To hide VPN connection, you can use the port 443 which is used for SSL, they will see heavy data usage from SSL port but will not be aware whether it is VPN or a SSL certificated website connection. Not all VPN do have port choices. Some VPNs that I know that has features of DPI and VPN-usage detection from various things/sites are FinchVPN (used a year ago for 2 years, no issue) VPNUnlimited (Using this for 9 months, and has a function called KeepSolid Wise TCP/UDP.
It uses TCP443 and UDP 33434 with OpenVPN protocol forming it's backbone, they claim to stop VPN usage to be detected and throttled.) FinchVPN desktop software is limited but it's configured OpenVPN file has various amount of port selection of a Vpn server. That's what I got to say, however make your research whether you can lie your back on them, or not. What I do is not that big of a deal so I use VPNUnlimited (US based, sadly).
FinchVPN is based in Malaysia, so its more safe. User amount is little. Other VPN services probably do offer such feature top but have no personal experience nor do I know which one of them do have such feature. Probably most of the OpenVPN supported VPNs will have alot of port choices to choose among.
